My Lord,

Referring to my telegram of the 2nd October reporting the death of Captain L. A. W. Barnes-Lawrence, late, R.N., who since the 23rd February, 1904, had been Harbour Master in this Colony and to the subsequent telegram in which at Your Lordship's request I sent information with regard to his last illness for communication to his mother, I have now the honour to transmit a report on the cause of death by Dr. O. Marriott the Medical Practitioner in attendance during the last illness and by Dr. J. M. Atkinson, Principal Civil Medical Officer who was called in consultation.

2. I also enclose letters from the Chamber of Commerce and the Pacific Mail Company and extracts from the local newspapers from which Your Lordship will see the high esteem and admiration in which the late Harbour Master was held by all classes in the Colony.
